3D WESTERN
We are a student-run organization for supporting students' endeavours in product design, prototyping, and creative technology.
While originally founded as a passion club for 3D Printing, we've partnered with Morrissette Entrepreneurship at Western University to expand beyond just 3D Printing to other fields and manufacturing methods like CNC, laser & water jet cutting, and woodworking tools, with the goal of making creative tools and the expertise needed to use them free and accessible to the student body here at Western.

Whether you're building your first project or developing a polished prototype, our team will provide guidance, training, and a place to experiment.
Across both facilities, we support every step of the creation process, from concept sketching and rapid prototyping to manufacturing fabrication, testing, and idea validation. We offer walk-ins for using the Sabourin Makerspace for woodworking and job ordering through our (coming soon!) dashboard for 3D prints, CNC, laser and water jet cutting.
Our Equipment
We provide a diverse suite of equipment for creational use.
Our equipment includes 3D printers, laser cutters, water cutters, Cricut machines, sewing machines, and soldering stations, along with a growing inventory of digital fabrication and woodworking tools. Students can access our equipment in the Sabourin Makerspace after completing Level 1 training on OWL.
Our Vision
As 3DW expands, our events and dashboard will become the central portal for accessing services, workshops, equipment bookings, and club activities for students, entrepeneurs, creators and innovators alike.
We're building a community here at Western where anyone can create, learn, and innovate, with no experience required. You can join us now, completely free of charge.
